Privacy Policy
How we handle the personal information you share with us.
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Introduction
This website is operated on behalf of Dr Anand Jeevarethinam, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, providing private cardiology consultations in London and Luton, United Kingdom. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Who We Are (Data Controller)
The data controller for personal information collected through this website is Dr Anand Jeevarethinam's clinical practice. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, please contact us using the details in Section 10.
3. What Data We Collect
When you submit the Request an Appointment form, we collect only the information you choose to provide:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Preferred appointment date and clinic location
- Reason for appointment and insurance provider (if provided)
- Any free-text details you add in the message field
We do not ask for, and request that you do not submit, sensitive clinical details or medical history through the website form. Any clinical information will be collected securely during your consultation.
4. Why We Collect It (Purpose)
We use your information solely to respond to your appointment enquiry, contact you to confirm or arrange an appointment, and provide you with information relating to your request. We do not use your data for marketing and we do not sell or share it with third parties for commercial purposes.
5. How It Is Processed
When you submit the appointment form, the information is sent directly by email to the clinic inbox. The website itself does not store a database of form submissions. Email delivery is handled via a third-party transactional email service (EmailJS); the content of your submission passes through their infrastructure for the sole purpose of dispatching the email.
6. Where It Is Processed
The website is hosted on servers located in Germany. Emails generated by the appointment form are delivered to UK-based clinical inboxes. Because personal data may transit through servers outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and the providers' security measures, to protect your information during transfer.
7. Storage and Retention
We do not store your enquiry data in a website database. Once the email is delivered, your information is retained in the clinic's email system only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and to meet our professional and regulatory obligations, after which it is deleted or securely archived in line with NHS and Care Quality Commission guidance.
8. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR), which you give by ticking the consent checkboxes on the appointment form, and where relevant for the purposes of taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract for clinical services (Article 6(1)(b)).
9. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to request correction or erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).
10. Contact Us
For any privacy-related questions or to exercise your rights, please contact us at yourheartmatters.london@gmail.com.
11. Cookies
Your cookie choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, so the banner does not appear on every visit.
If you select “Accept all”, we use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how the website is used: which pages are viewed, and whether an appointment request was sent or a telephone number or email address was clicked. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_Q73NGSMJ34. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number or anything you type into the appointment form to Google Analytics. Google signals and advertising features are switched off, and analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months.
If you select “Reject optional”, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using “Privacy choices” at the bottom of every page; withdrawing consent stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies.
